HISTORIC DISCOVERY? 'Standing lakes of water surrounded by trees' on surface of Mars ALIEN chasers claim to have found evidence of lakes of standing water surrounded by trees sitting on the surface of Mars. But so far NASA has found no evidence of significant surface water, or that even minuscule life forms do or previously existed on Mars. Alien hunters claim they’ve seen a 'long metallic' UFO orbiting an asteroid near Earth, in latest bizarre claim UFO hunters have dug up a year-old image to point out what they claim is a massive UFO orbiting a near- Earth asteroid – not a small moon, as  Nasa  has explained. In a Gif released by the space agency on January 26, 2015, a spinning object can be seen at the centre of the black and white image, as a small, illuminated object descends toward it. Credit: space.com New details provided by the European Space Agency's (ESA) Rosetta spacecraft has revealed a significant increase in the amount of water “pouring” out of the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, on which the mission’s Philae lander touched down  in November. According to scientists, the 2.5-mile-wide comet was releasing about 1.2 liters of water into space every second at the end of August last year. A study based on the observations made by NASA’s Microwave Instrument for Rosetta Orbiter (MIRO) aboard the spacecraft, was published in a special Thursday issue of the journal  Science . “In observations over a period of three months [June through August, 2014], the amount of water in vapor form that the comet was dumping into space grew about tenfold,” Sam Gulkis, principal investigator of the MIRO instrument at NASA, and the study’s lead author,  said  in a statement.   Read more >> Source:   http://www.msn.com ...

So it’s unusual for there to be a completely fresh impact on the surface of Mars: but that’s just what NASA scientists discovered looking through a recent batch of images returned from NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. You’re looking at an image taken by the Mars Context Camera, an instrument on board the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. In an older photograph taken of the region in February 2012, there was just a bunch of old craters. And then, in the newer image, taken June 2014, this fresh scar on the surface of Mars is clearly visible. No crater… then crater. China Poised to Launch Next Moon Mission on Thursday By Leonard David, Space.com's Space Insider Columnis China is set to launch a robotic moon mission this week, a "trial by fire" test of re-entry technology for the country's future lunar sample-return efforts. To date there has been little official word on this unmanned mission, which may launch as early as Thursday (Oct. 23). It will apparently send a spacecraft around  the moon ; on its way back toward Earth, the probe will release a capsule to perform a high-speed plunge through the planet's atmosphere. The capsule will parachute onto terra firma to complete its voyage. The soon-to-launch moon probe is based on China's Chang'e 2 lunar orbiter design and modified to carry the re-entry test capsule. Utilizing a powerful  NASA  space telescope to explore the skies for planets similar to ours where life might exist, astronomers stated Thursday they have discovered the most  Earth -like candidates yet.
