Two new planets are most Earth-like ever seen

Utilizing a powerful NASA space telescope to explore the skies for planets similar to ours where life might exist, astronomers stated Thursday they have discovered the most Earth-like candidates yet.

Two of the five planets orbiting a sun-like star known as Kepler-62 are squarely in what astronomers call the habitable zone — not too hot, not too cold and also possibly producing water, experts stated in the journal Science.  Read more...

(REUTERS/Mike Blake) Canada experienced a very high number of reported UFO sightings in 2015, according to an  annual survey  released by Winnipeg, Manitoba-based Ufology Research. Chris Rutkowski, one of the researchers that compiled the survey, told CBC that reported sightings in Canada last year were the second highest since the survey began in 1989. There were 1,267 reported sightings of UFOs in 2015, according to the report, up from 1,021 in 2014. The highest number of reported sightings was 1,981 in 2012. Tony Abbott gave Chinese President  Xi Jinping  a private and detailed briefing in Beijing about the latest on the search for the missing  Boeing 777-200ER  aircraft which had 154 Chinese people on board. The MP told the President before a State dinner with the Australian premiers at theGreat Hall of the People in Beijing — an unprecedented audience — that search teams led by the Australian ship Ocean Shield had narrowed down the area in the Indian Ocean where pings from the flight recorders are being received to a grid of around 10km by 10km.
